Surgical removal of internal or external hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids occur when veins in the anus area become inflammed. Surgical correction is accomplished by cutting around the tissue and tying off the vein to prevent bleeding or utilizing a surgical stapler to reposition the hemorroid and cut off the blood flow causing the inflammation.
