Bilateral Myringotomy with Tube Insertion
Tympanostomy tube: Insertion of small tube into eardrum to ventilate the middle ear and prevent accumulation of fluid. Myringotomy: Incision in tympanic membrane in order to ventilate the middle ear, drain fluid from the membrane, or to obtain cultures (in the case of infection).
